Our Leadership Institute will:
Create new educational and training opportunities for early- and mid-career professionals to deepen their knowledge of LGBTQI+ federal policy issues and the skills needed to make change
Place fellows on the Hill and in national 501(c)(3) organizations to provide hands-on federal policy experience, alongside professional development training
Create a strong, supportive network of program alumni to connect up-and-coming professionals with those who have experience and expertise in LGBTQI+ policy issues.
Our Center for Policy & Research will:
Provide in-depth background research on national issues of importance to the LGBTQI+ community.
Convene policy conversations and conferences with a diverse group of stakeholders to create stronger movement alignment and shape more robust communication channels among our network of key stakeholders, advocates, and policymakers.
· Shape a more diverse narrative around LGBTQI+ issues to demonstrate the full diversity of the community, the unique forms of discrimination community members face, and the impacts of race, class, national origin, gender, disability status, and other factors in shaping community experiences and needs.
Work closely with movement partners to develop research and communications tools that inform public understanding of federal policy issues.
